In New York City, Dr. Diez trained at Beth Israel, Bellevue, Montefiore, Bronx Lebanon, Bronx Psychiatric and Bronx Children's Hospitals, where she provided a broad range of clinical services including emergency room, psychiatric evaluations and psychotherapy to ambulatory and hospitalized clients and neuropsychological assessment. She worked with adults and children, from the very highly functioning to the severely mentally ill persons, in individually, family, couple and group modalities, following evidence-based practices (i.e., Cognitive Bevahioral Therapy), as well as humanistic, psychodynamic and interpersonal principles.
In Argentina she was admitted, among a highly competitive and small cohort, to train as a Psychology Resident within the Interdisciplinary Residencial Training Program in Mental Health at the Dr. Emilio V. Abal Psychiatric Hospital, the largest open door psychiatric center in the country. Upon completion of her four-year residence training she was selected as Chief Resident, and was later hired as a staff psychologist. She also trained at the Hospital Psicoasistencial J. Borda in Buenos Aires. In addition to her curricular training, she pursues ongoing specialized education and training in her areas of competence and interest, mainly clinical, social and forensic aspects of behavior. Dr. Diez's passages through diverse cultural, clinical and academic settings resulted in an integrative perspective on human behavior and mental health in which multiple factors (medical, neurobiological, historical, social, philosophical) interplay resulting in each person's particular ways of dealing with the world. This integrative view informs her daily practice. To learn more about the integrative model in psychotherapy practice click here.
